Whiskey | German shepard mix | Bakersfield, Ca
Hello everyone! Please welcome Whiskey into the Offleashk9 family. Whiskey was brought to us because she struggles with things such as separation anxiety, leash reactivity, and having no leash manners whatsoever. Whiskeys owners also let us know that she has a problem with chasing and playing too rough with the cats and smaller dogs at home. Overall Whiskey is already a pretty good dog but will be even better once she has mastered some obedience commands and learn better manners. Please stay tuned to our website in order to view photos and videos of Whiskey’s daily progress.

Whiskey has already shown some major progress in her behavior! In the beginning Whiskey was a little timid when brought into a brand new setting, one time she even refused to go in the kennel. After working with Whiskey for a while we began earning her trust by bonding through obedience training and having a very calm energy level. Now she loves to go relax in the kennel and always goes in without a problem. Please stay tuned to our website in order to view Whiskeys daily progress throughout the rest of her two week board and train program; like a glass of fine wine, Whiskey will only get better with time.

Today Whiskey focused on mastering every single command in front of the shopping center. In the beginning she was a little timid to go onto the place cott, but with only a small amount of positive reassurance and guidance, she began to really enjoy completing this command. Whiskeys doing such an amazing job completing her commands and building confidence!

Whiskey had a great day of training today! She was able to join us on a quick trip to the Valley Plaza Mall to complete some of her daily training. Whiskey did a great job at staying in the heel position and completing all of her commands. One thing I noticed Whiskey struggling with was a little bit of separation anxiety which made it hard for her to complete commands. On one occasion i was actually able to feel her body trembling when approached by friendly stranger. Please stay tuned to our website in order to view Whiskeys progress as we work on building her confidence around various public settings.

Today whiskey had some really progressive training sessions! She is looking a lot more confident today as she was able to take a quick stop in the nearby gas station with Jaylyn. Whiskey starting to get a little bit possessive over her kennel which is a major turn around since her first day with us, we have noticed Whiskey growling and sometimes barking when another dog passes her kennel. Other than her possessiveness starting to show, Whiskey is doing an incredible job so far!

Whiskey had yet another very progressive day of training! Her confidence around people has improved greatly and she is learning how to master her extended commands. She might be getting a little too confident though as she has recently started to showcase some dog aggression. The usual form of aggressive behavior we’ve seen out of Whiskey is when other dogs pass by her kennel and she lets out a barks or growl warn them off. Due to this kind of aggression we recommend Whiskey to stay an extra week with us to work on that. Please stay tuned in order to view how we teach Whiskey to respect and be kind to other dogs!
