Immersive Training

Two weeks of full-time training beats months of weekly practice

Board and train is the fastest route to a dog you can take anywhere. Your dog lives and works with a trainer every day, and the training happens where it matters: parks, trails, big-box stores, busy streets and neighborhoods around Bakersfield, not just in a quiet training room. Off-leash reliability comes from this kind of immersive work rather than from weekly obedience lessons. At the end you get a one-on-one handover session so you know exactly how to handle your dog. All programs and prices are on the plans and pricing page.

What You Get Back

What board and train delivers

Off-leash reliability

Full off-leash recall built and proofed over daily sessions, not squeezed into one lesson a week.

Real-world distractions

Parks, trails, stores and neighborhoods around Bakersfield, so the obedience holds outside the house.

Core obedience

Sit, place, down, heel and off, each with duration and distance, plus recall.

House manners

Greeting manners, door manners and meal manners, worked on daily while your dog is with us.

A handover session

A one-on-one turnover where we show you everything your dog now does and how to keep it.

“I brought my Blue Heeler Leonardo to Off Leash K9 for their board-and-train program, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. He had learned all the essential commands and was actually excited to show them off.”

“My dog had the biggest issues with separation anxiety from my wife. Offleash took him off our hands for a few weeks. Once we got him back, his behavior was drastically improved.”

Board and train questions

What is the difference between Community K9 and Urban K9?

Both are two weeks and both are $2,800. Community K9 works your dog around mid-level everyday distractions: house manners, parks, baseball games, trails, neighborhoods and big-box stores. Urban K9 is built for dogs that need the highest level of distraction: busy events, crowded metro areas, airports, shopping centers and train stations.

How old does my dog need to be for board and train?

Board and train uses e-collar obedience, and we generally do not start that until a dog is at least 5 months old. Younger than that, start with puppy training from 12 weeks and move into a board and train once your dog is old enough.

Where does my dog stay?

Your dog boards with a professional trainer for the length of the program and trains every day, on and off site. That daily contact is what makes the obedience stick.

What happens when my dog comes home?

You get a one-on-one turnover session covering every command your dog now knows and how to handle them. The 1-week program includes a 1.5-hour session and the 2-week programs include a 2-hour session. Anything you are unsure about afterwards, call us.

Do you offer payment plans?
