Snowy | Mixed Breed | Carson, CA – Off Leash K9 Training of Bakersfield

Snowy is a mixed breed who is almost two years old. She will be joining us for our Two Week Rehabilitation Board and Train Program. In her lifetime she has had multiple biting incidents and her owners want to have better control of her. If she’s really fixated on an object she will bite her owner on the leg and her behavior continues to get worse. She shows aggressive behavior to objects in motion like bikes and skateboards. It can be hard to walk her in public because she will pull on the leash and bark at whatever she’s distracted by. Over the next two weeks we will help create a well balanced foundation of obedience for Snowy to enjoy back home with her family.

Training Highlights: Today we trained over at the park. I introduced all 5 commands ( heel, sit, down, come, and place) with leash guidance. She did tend to get distracted from time to time but I haven’t seen her be reactive. Not bad for her first day !

Training Highlights: Today was really warm so we trained at home where she got to meet my dogs. They were super friendly with each other and ultimately just wanted to play. I only socialize her with dogs I trust so she creates a positive correlation with other dogs.

Training Highlights: We continue to reinforce all commands on leash. Snowy has improved so much on her heel to sit sequence. She can still be reactive to some distractions. Snowy is still struggling with her down command. It was a hot one so we work early in the morning and later in the evenings once it’s cooler. Her muzzle is taken on and off througout day.

Training Highlights: She’s doing much better around dogs and kids. She is less reactive but will still be fixated. We continue to work on her behavior daily. On heel she stays on my left side, behind my knees. She continues to drink water and eat food normally.

Training Highlights: Snowy hit a huge milestone today by removing her muzzle. She did very well later on in the day as well. I trust her and she trusts me that’s why we were able to get to this point. She was able to complete more reps of the down command. Great work Snowy!

Training Highlights: Snowy is now fully training without a muzzle. She does well going in and out of the crate on command. She has gotten better at walking around in places with dogs. When she’s in a reserved environment she will try to bark at other dogs. Snowy loves to keep a focused heel. She continues to improve on all her commands, especially her down.

Training Highlights: Snowy is continuing to improve her reactivity with other dogs. Today she got to train more around my dog Dante. She is doing much better around dogs. It is important to always keep her on a command so that she’s always occupied. We want her mind to be focused on holding the command rather than getting distracted. Her down is getting much better!

Training Highlights: Today we socialized Snowy to a public environment. We trained over at Lowes where she was around lots of new distractions. She did not bark at other people but she is still very fixated on humans. When she’s around children she gets really worked up and I guide her into a command. If she’s not corrected when fixated, it’s highly possible for her to react unpredictably. She still struggles with the down command. She can be a bit stubborn with leash pressure. She is eating water regularly and working indoors when its hot out.

Training Highlights: Anther day at Lowe’s. We really want to socialize with as much of the public as possible. She did really well with the rest of her commands. She still struggles with the down command. Her heel is really great! Day by day we continue to teach her manners to become a better mannered pup.

Training Highlights: Major improvements from Snowy and her behaviors. Over at Going Mutts she was around all kinds of dogs and humans. She did her commands around all these distractions. In public I always have her on a command. Great work today girl!!!!

Training Highlights: Great work from Snowy today. She now performs the down on command! She performs all commands on command. Snowy is always eager to work and she loves to train! At home we practiced off leash commands. She did well in a less distracted environment off leash.

Training Highlights: Amazing turn out for Snowy! Today we hit the road and went over to the mall. Snowy was around all types of human distractions and new noises. She did AMAZING, performing all commands off leash and heeling off leash through children and adults. Great work Snowy!
