Scooby | Labrador Retriever | Porterville, California
Hi everybody my name is Scooby! I am an eight month pup joining my trainer Anthony, for a two week board and train! My owner brought me here because I struggle with recall, overall commands, and lack socialization to new environments. On leash its a struggle for my owners to walk me because I’m really strong and I drag them anywhere they take me. It’s tough having me inside the house because I love to bite all my owners stuff! On my free time I love to play ball with my owner in the back yard! I also love to go on car rides. Over the next two weeks my trainer and I together, will build a well balanced foundation of obedience, for me to enjoy back home with my family. Stay tuned daily for my progressive transformation!

Training Summary: At the beginning of trainings Scooby can be a huge ball of energy. Once we work him physically we then can work him mentally. He is super smart and is great at recognizing repetition. On walks he does get easily distracted – it’s important to redirect Scooby with a command. He’s learning to work through it, into a calm state of mind.

At first he was shy to perform the place command – after multiple reps he hops up on the bench with enthusiasm! He’s also learning to receive affection without biting me or the leash. Great work bud!

Training Summary: We continue to expose Scooby to new environments daily! He loves to be around people! I put him on command in high distracted areas like this so he can focus on his task at hand, rather than the billions of distractions around him. If on command for a while, he will challenge you by breaking command…stay calm and follow through with the same command.
