Kaya | Siberian Husky Mix | Pasadena, California
Hi everybody my name is Kaya and I will be joining my trainer, Anthony for a Three Week Board and Train Program! My owners brought me here in hopes for me to become a well mannered pup. I tend to struggle with walking on a leash and listening to my owners in high distracted areas. I really love my owners, so being away from them for a certain period of time can cause me to become anxious. I love meeting new people! My issue is I can become overly excited when greeting people. Over the next three weeks my trainer will help me become more of a well balanced pup, so I can enjoy life a little more going out with my family! Stay tuned for my pawsome transformation!

Training Highlights: Today was the first day of training, where we introduced all five of the commands (heel, sit, down, come, and place) with leash guidance. Using just the slip lead we’re able to guide her through the motions of the completing the command. She has some separation anxiety. Throughout the day if she doesn’t see me she will began to bark and whine. Not too bad for her first day, onto better days!

Training Highlights: Big improvements today from Kaya! Today she was able to extend her sit and down commands for a really long time. The commands are great for her because it allows her too mentally slow down, calm down, and focus in the moment. She’s always very anxious to do things, with the commands we’re able to control that energy and be proactive with it.

Training Summary: Kaya is doing much better around environments with distractions. All throughout Lowe’s Kaya was keeping a tight heel on my left side. We’ve created a good habit where she must sit at every stop we make. This is a great habit to keep her always in that training mode mentality. If we don’t give her a command to perform, she has no issue making her “dog decision” and doing what she thinks is best. Let’s keep up the great work and increase those distractions !!

Training Summary: Kaya did really well with the urban distractions we experienced over at Pan Pacific Park. YAY she is completing ALL her commands! When she gets really tired she wants to stop everything and just lay down. We keep our sessions short and sweet, with multiple sessions through the day to progress training. Some days she doesn’t want to train, it’s important to put the leash on her and make training fun and motivating! Verbal praise really gets her going and is a positive boost of energy during our sessions. Let’s keep it up girl!
