Let’s welcome Poppy, she is about a year old and recently rescued so she is looking for guidance from her new owners. She is staying with us for our 2 week rehabilitation program due to her growing aggression issues. She is not fond of all new people but is very sweet with her owners and people of her choice. Poppy barks and lunges toward any dog so we will be working on her confidence building, socialization skills and manners at home and in public. Stay tuned for her transformation!

Poppy has been doing great in the crate over night and in car drives. We have been working solo and she has slowly been introduced to other dogs. Please enjoy this video of completing commands not so structured so that she had fun socializing and completing them. She can still have a tendency to bark at unknown dogs, but it’s getting better day by day.

Today was poppy’s first day out in public and she did awesome. Initially she barked at every person and dog that she saw but slowly came to realize that they were not so important and she began to focus on training. We worked on duration sit and duration down. She is eating normally and going potty normally

Poppy’s socialization skills have tremendously improved since day one. While she is getting play time, it is monitored and it it limited since we still want her to understand boundaries and that not everyday moment is playtime.

Poppy worked on her duration sit today. She did a great job staying put until I told her to walk back to me. She was also in a busy environment where there were lots of cars passing and turning. Her focus and patience really shined through!

Poppy worked on her place to place command today. She was able to stay seated in one place, then walk to another place and stay seated there too. Every time she went back and forth she stayed focused and obedient. Great job, Poppy!

Poppy loves sun bathing and practicing place. She can often be stubborn with going into down command, but after more practice she will be prepared to do all commands at home and in public. Great work poppy!

Check out how awesome Poppy is doing around another dog! And guess what?! Both of them are dog reactive, they’re understanding that regardless of what is around, completing commands is more important than barking or lunging. Poppy practiced place as Charka worked on duration sit and practiced heel.
