Lucy | Siberian Husky | Bakersfield, California
Meet Lucy the Siberian Husky! She is five years old and will be joining us for our Two Week Board and Train Program. Lucy was brought to us because she struggles with walks on leash, basic obedience, and lacks recall when she’s off leash. Overall she does need improvements on her mannerism when in public environments. She is the sweetest when it comes to socializing with other humans. Lucy struggles with building relationships with other small dogs. At home she does tend to get into it, with the smaller dogs at home. Check daily for her progressive progress!

Training Summary: Today was a really hot day so we kept training indoors, early in the morning, and later in the evening. She is settling in really well! We went over all commands with leash guidance. Leash pressure is only used when we’re guiding her to a command. Once she’s on command all pressure is released. Great first day girl!!!

Training Summary: Lucy is really smart and is really getting the motions of the commands. The place command is the action of her jumping onto an elevated object she’s familiar with. For example your car, bed, couch, park bench, etc. This is also a great confidence builder!

Training Summary: Lucy’s confidence continues to grow day in and day out. She has improved so much with the place command. She was so frightened by the elevated park bench, now she hops right on up! She is eating all of her meals and is drinking water regularly. Commands are getting much more easier, less leash pressure is being used. If she needs some guidance I guide her with the leash and that’s okay!

Training Summary: Lucy is always used to barging through different thresholds. For example any door that’s open, she want to be the first one through. It’s important to slow her down physically and mentally. Slowing the brain down will allow her to focus and be in the moment . It’ll also allow her to carry onto your next activity in a more calm state of mind rather than all anxious. The commands are great to enforce calmness and to physically slow her down.
