George | Pitbull | Bakersfield, CA

Hello everyone, please give a warm welcoming to our very special guest named George. George is here with us to complete a two week rehabilitation program, in order to help him become a well behaved and obedient boy. He was brought to us by his owner because he struggles with reactivity issues, towards humans and dogs while in public. George is also the littermate brother to Frank, a dog who has previously completed a two week board and train program with us. At home George periodically starts fights with his brother Frank, due to dominate and possessive behaviors. Before he was brought to us George had already undergone three different training programs, who were unsuccessful in fixing his behavior. If you are interested in witnessing George transform into a more docile and well balanced good boy!

Today George had an amazing day of training! He is getting very good at completing most of his basic obedience commands, such as come, sit, down, and heel. Although he is doing an awesome job mastering his commands, George has showcased some signs of dog aggression. Earlier today he tried to attack one of our personal puppies. Luckily we have a muzzle on George, so nobody was hurt at all and we were able to successfully finish our training session on a positive note.

Today we kept it simple with George’s training and focused on completing our basic commands around the nearby shopping center. George is building a lot of confidence and doesn’t try to lunge or bark at strangers anymore. Although George is doing an awesome job there is a couple things he struggles with such as shyness around strangers, and lunging towards smaller dogs. Please stay tuned to our website for updates on George’s progression and to watch him learn how to work past all kinds of distractions.

For todays training we focused mainly on keeping George the place cot while in the grooming salon while various distractions came by. George did an amazing job by not responding towards any triggers while laying down on the place cot. We are very proud of this progress and excited to see just how much George can learn by the end of our board and train program!
