Tucker | Rottweiler Mix | Bakersfield, CA
Tucker, our delightful Rottweiler-German Shepherd mix, is joining us for a two-week boarding and training program. Although Tucker is incredibly friendly and loves people, he has some challenges that need addressing. Currently, he’s quite destructive inside the house and struggles with coming when called and listening to his owners. Despite these issues, Tucker is not aggressive and is genuinely a lovable dog. We are excited to work with him and guide him through this training journey. Stay tuned for Tucker’s awesome transformation!

Training Summary:
Today, we introduced leash pressure, a technique used to guide and effectively communicate with our pups. Alongside this, we introduced the five basic commands: heel, sit, down, come, and place. It was a great first day, and we encourage everyone to keep up the hard work.

Today, we trained at the park with Tucker, who is doing really well with his heel command. He is pulling less and remains close to my left leg. Tucker also excels in the heel-to-sit series. Today, we continued to reinforce all commands with Tucker, who is showing significant improvement with his down command. We were able to complete more down commands than usual, and every day this command becomes easier for him. His heel command is also impressive, as he consistently walks on my left side without pulling. Keep up the great work, Tucker!

Today, we trained at Lowe’s, which presented many distractions for Tucker. Initially, he was very excited and happy to see so many people. However, as the session progressed, Tucker became more acclimated to his environment and began taking commands more effectively, listening much better. By the end of the session, he was able to complete all commands, including performing a “down” in the middle of the store. This was impressive for his first time at Lowe’s. We will continue to increase his distractions to further his training. Keep up the hard work, Tucker.

Today, we trained Tucker to handle distractions from other dogs. The main objective was for him to maintain the down command in a specific position at a distance, despite a dog passing by. Tucker performed exceptionally well, successfully holding an extended down despite the potential distraction.
