Meet 7-month-old Poppy, the Maltipoo! She’s joining us for a two-week board and train because she struggles with listening to her owner, walking on a leash, and barks a ton. Despite that, she’s great with humans and is an absolute sweetheart. Stay tuned for her awesome transformation!

Training Summary:
At the park, we worked on training with Poppy, primarily using leash pressure to introduce her to the five basic commands: heel, sit, down, come, and place. Poppy is adapting quickly to these commands, and we’re pleased to see her fitting in well at home.

Training Summary:
Poppy’s personality is characterized by extreme skittishness and anxiety, often seen in her attempts to dart out of her crate. Our approach aims to help her regulate her emotions by slowing down her thought process and encouraging calm behavior. We prioritize proceeding only when she demonstrates a sense of calm. Additionally, we’re working on introducing her to the concept of respecting boundaries as part of her training process.

Today, we trained with Poppy at Home Depot, and she is continuing to gain confidence in public environments. Poppy is barking less when in the crate and becoming much more obedient. The down command is becoming significantly easier for her. Keep up the great work, Poppy!

We continue to reinforce commands with Poppy, and she is doing amazingly well with her sit and down commands. Her leash manners are excellent, and she consistently walks on my left side.

We continue to give Poppy opportunities to be in public environments, and today we trained at Home Depot. She practiced commands amidst various public distractions, learning to maintain calm energy in such settings. Poppy is doing really well and has shown significant improvement with her separation anxiety. Keep up the good work, Poppy.

Today, we took our training to Hollywood Boulevard with Poppy, where she faced numerous new distractions, including lots of people and cars. Despite these challenges, she did an amazing job. Poppy is learning to be quiet when left alone, and her separation anxiety has improved significantly. Her barking is now controllable. Keep up the great work, Poppy!
