We are certified CGC evaluators. This is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community.
The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive certificate ($200) from the American Kennel Club.
You and your dog will practice the CGC exercises: Accepting a friendly stranger, Sitting politely for petting, Appearance and grooming, Out for a walk (loose leash walking), Walking through a crowd, Sit and down on command and Staying in place, Coming when called, Reaction to another dog, Reaction to distraction and Supervised separation. This class is perfect for continuing your dog’s education.
You and your dog will work toward creating a better relationship while your dog learns to listen to you consistently. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. This 5-week program uses positive reinforcement techniques, encouraging markers, and clicker training to reinforce desired behaviors. We emphasize confidence-building exercises and teach fundamental commands such as sit, come, place, and loose-leash walking. Notably, we do not use e-collars or prong collars, opting instead for a 15-foot leash, clicker, and slip lead, all provided as part of the program.

Our Community K9 Program is a program that meets the needs of the majority of people. In this program, your dog will be exposed to mid-level distractions that you would come upon in your daily lives. Your dog will be taken to numerous mid-level distraction areas throughout their 2-week stay (examples: focus on house manners, parks, baseball games, trails, various neighborhoods, big box stores, etc.).

Our Urban K9 Program is a program designed around people who live in or near busy metropolitan areas and require that their dogs are exposed to distractions at the highest level. In this program, your dog will be taken to numerous high-level distraction areas throughout their 2-week training (examples: busy events, highly populated metropolitans, airports, shopping centers, train stations, etc.).

This is a specially designed, and highly-customizable program and is the best option for you and your dog if they display these behaviors.
The program consists of an initial consultation, then we move on to intensive one-on-one training for your dog – performed by our top behavior experts.
Your dog will learn basic obedience commands and be obedient to you despite the challenges multiple distractions may present. They will give your dog (and you) the skills, tools, obedience, and desensitization confidence that is necessary in order to put you back in control of real-life situations.
