Jemma | Doberman Pinscher | Bakersfield, California | Off Leash K9 Training of Bakersfield

Hi everyone! My name is Jemma and I am a 22 month old pup! I am a Doberman Pincscher from Bakersfield, California. I will be joining a Two Board & Train Program with my trainer Anthony! My mom sent me to Off Leash NorCal because I struggle with walking on a leash, recalling in public environments, and love to chase moving objects like squirrels! I can perform the sit and down command, along with some other cool tricks. I am well socialized! I join my mom on road trips and recently went to Utah! Check daily to see my progression, enjoy!

Training Highlights: Today was a great day getting to know Jemma. She is super smart and loves to be active! She can train for hours! We went over all five of the commands (heel, sit, come, down, place). Starting off in a low distraction environment, making sure we get her commands to where we want them to be. She is settling in really well, drinking water and eating her food regularly!

Training Highlights: Today we got to train indoors over at Home Depot. Jemma does really well with human interaction. She was a bit spooked out from the forklifts and loud noises of the flat carts. Overall she was able to perform commands throughout the store. Finally got Jemma to get up and stay on the scale. She weighs 60.04lbs! Great work girl!

Training Highlights: Took Jemma with me shopping to Home Depot for some appliances. We’re really enforcing the come to sit command in public areas – this activity will improve her recall in public environments. She’s getting the motion down really well and is building integrity in all of her commands. Her positioning is improving as well – she belongs on my left side, close to my leg as possible.

Training Highlights: Jemma continues to make wonderful improvements day in and day out. Jemma and I enjoyed a training session over at the Northridge mall. While we walked around to shop, we passed by other dogs and Jemma remained calm.

Training Highlights: Today we got to run around and train at different places. Jemma was being socialized to new and intense environments. She joined me for lunch at In-n-Out. She sat so well from the beginning to the end! She also got to play with the pack! She met Freddy the husky, Dante the malinois, and Banksy the havanese! She gets along really well with other dogs and had fun playing with my siblings around the yard!

Training Highlights: Jemma got to visit the local skatepark today. This was really good for her to be around moving distractions like skateboards. At first she wanted to play but once she acclimated to the environment she was much more relaxed. Jemma is a superstar with all of her commands. Great work girl!

Training Highlights: It’s officially been one full week of training! Jemma is continuing to build her confidence in all of her commands! She loves to meet other dogs and play ball! We’re continuing to show her the difference between “play-time” mode and “training” mode. She can enjoy both worlds as long as we can control her energies. Jemma is such a fun dog to be with!

Training Highlights: Today we trained in a really high distracted area. It was a really active environment and Jemma really kept her cool. She is great at heeling through large crowds of people. On heel she is close to my left side and puling ahead of me. Her recall has improved tremendously! Recall is key to off leash success. Keep up the good work !
