GHOST | CANE CORSO | DELANO, CALIFORNIA
Meet Ghost, a 10-month-old Cane Corso who has officially joined us for our three-week board and train program. Like many young, powerful working breeds, Ghost is full of energy and confidence—but without clear structure, that strength can quickly become overwhelming. His owners reached out because they feel they have little control over him right now. He jumps on guests the moment they walk through the door, pulls excessively on walks, and generally operates on his own agenda instead of looking to his handlers for direction.
Their goals are clear: they want a well-mannered, obedient companion they can confidently manage both at home and in public. That means better impulse control around visitors, structured leash manners, reliable obedience, and ultimately the ability to trust him both on and off leash. Over the next three weeks, we’ll be building a solid foundation of structure, accountability, and clarity so Ghost understands expectations and learns how to channel his drive appropriately. Stay tuned as we guide this big boy through what’s sure to be an incredible transformation.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:
On our first day with Ghost, the main focus has been building the foundation of a strong relationship and developing trust. With a young and powerful breed like him, establishing clear communication early on is key. We’ve begun slowly introducing leash manners, keeping the sessions calm and structured so he can start understanding what’s expected of him without feeling overwhelmed. Ghost can be quite fearful in new environments and is sensitive to unfamiliar noises, so building trust and confidence will be a major priority throughout his training. The goal right now is to move at a pace that allows him to feel safe while still guiding him toward better habits. So far, he’s settling in really well, and it’s exciting to see the beginning of what I’m confident will be an incredible journey and transformation for him. 🐾

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:
Continuing to build trust with him by introducing new experiences like working on the place command. He tends to be very anxious when approaching new doors, surfaces, or situations—something as simple as getting into my car can feel overwhelming for him. By slowing things down and guiding him through the place command, we’re helping him work through those moments of uncertainty. It’s a great confidence builder and gives him a clear task to focus on, which helps replace hesitation with trust and understanding. Over time, these small wins start to add up and make a big difference in how he navigates the world. 🐾

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:
We’re continuing to build his confidence using the place cot and gradually introducing new surfaces for him to step onto and settle on. At times he can still be a little skittish or unsure, especially when something feels unfamiliar under his paws, but that’s all part of the process. With each repetition he’s learning that these new experiences are safe, and you can see his confidence growing little by little. Every successful rep helps him trust the environment more, trust the guidance he’s receiving, and ultimately become more comfortable navigating new situations.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:
Ghost is making great progress and continuing to build trust in the process. Each session he’s becoming more comfortable working with me and trying new things. He’s now able to get up on different surfaces with much less hesitation, which is a big step for him considering how unsure he was in the beginning. We’re slowly seeing him come out of his shell, and with every repetition his confidence grows a little more. It’s been great to watch him start believing in himself and pushing past those initial fears. Great work, bud—keep it up. 🐾💪
