Manners and structure that work outside the living room
A dog that listens at home and falls apart at the park does not have reliable obedience yet. Our obedience programs build the core commands first, then proof them around the distractions your dog actually meets: loose-leash walking, extended sit and down, place, and off. Lessons are private and one-on-one, and every program includes the training equipment. If you want obedience that comes home already locked in, our board and train programs do that work for you. All prices are on the plans and pricing page.

What Bakersfield dog owners say
“Training that works! Behavior based training that helps you and your dog understand each other as far as what you expect of them in different situations.”
“The difference it has made in their behavior is incredible. We now have full control over them, whether we are out for a walk or anywhere else. They are well-behaved and listen to our commands.”
“My dog Hinata 3 yrs old german shepard/husky mix had taken the 4 week course and came back a new girl. Before training she had so much energy, didn’t know how to walk with leash, jump on people.”
Obedience training questions
What commands does obedience training cover?
Our Basic Obedience program covers come, sit and extended sit, down and extended down, place and extended place, loose-leash heel, and off. It runs 5 private lessons and includes the e-collar and training leash.
How old does my dog need to be?
Generally we do not start e-collar training until a dog is at least 5 months old. Younger puppies are not out of luck: we take puppies from 12 weeks once they have had two sets of vaccines, on the clicker and marker track. See puppy training for that stage.
What is the difference between lessons and board and train?
Lessons are private sessions where we teach you to handle your dog, so the work carries on between appointments. Board and train is immersive: your dog stays and trains with a professional trainer, and you get a handover session at the end so you can keep it going.
Do you use e-collars?
Yes for most obedience programs, and the e-collar and training leash are included in the price. If you would rather not use one, Basic Marker Mastery is a 5-week positive-reinforcement program that uses a clicker, a slip lead and a 15-foot leash instead. More on our methods is on the FAQ page.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options.
